Servings: 1 large jar

As a German I am a big fan of Nutella. Whether it is on toast with banana, on pancakes, in a dessert or just spooned on its own, I just can't get enough of it. It turns out it's really easy to make your own!

Ingredients

For the Nutella:

  • 275 g hazelnuts
  • 7 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 150 g icing sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 100 ml canola oil or coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Start by roasting your hazelnuts in a large non-stick frying pan for about 10 minutes until they are nicely browned and softened.
  2. Tip them into the mixing bowl and blend 10 Sec. / Speed 10. Scrape down with spatula and blend 30 Sec. / Speed 5. Scrape down, then repeat three more times, scraping down in between, until you have a smooth butter.

  3. Add the cocoa powder, icing sugar, salt, vanilla extract and canola oil then blend again 10 Sec. / Speed 10.

  4. Transfer into jam jars and store in the fridge

  1. […] Breakfast time: For breakfast I absolutely love Nutella. I am German after all, so Nutella needs to exist in my life.  I have been experimenting with lots of different flavour combinations but I came to the conclusion that Nutella with banana on bread is the most delicious and flavoursome treat for breakfast. It gives you a great kick start to the day. If you are in a rush, try putting it in a smoothie with some banana and coconut milk. Click here for the recipe.  […]

Awesome. What would you recommend replacing the icing sugar with for a healthy alternative?

You can use coconut sugar 🙂

Hey there! I’m hoping to get the TM6 when it arrives in Australia soon, and I’m wondering if you could do this whole recipe in it? (Instead of using a pan to roast in step one? )
P.S. Any updates on your TM6?

    • Sophia H Sophia H on May 17, 2019 at 10:23 am

I think you couldn’t roast step 1 because the surface is just not big enough but it’s really quick to do in a pan. Also, because of the restrictions on recipes and functionality with Cookidoo you couldn’t use your own recipes for the frying mode anyway. The bugs that caused my account to crash on the TM6 have now been fixed that is the latest update 🙂
