As soon as it starts getting colder and darker outside, I cannot think of anything better than visiting a German Christmas market and having these delicious golden brown, roasted caramelised almonds. This recipe is super simple and deliciously crunchy. It takes minutes and can be adapted with many different flavours.

Ingredients

  • 200 g almonds with skin
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 80 g brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 10 g water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C. Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.

  2. Place the almonds, cinnamon, brown sugar and vanilla extract in the mixing bowl then heat 6 Min. / Reverse / Speed 1 / Varoma.

  3. Add the water and boil again 5 Min. / Reverse / Speed 1 / Varoma / no measuring cup. If the almonds start looking dry, add a small splash of water.

  4. Scatter the almonds over the prepared baking tray and bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Remove and leave to cool, making sure you loosen them from the tray before they start sticking to it. Enjoy!
