Mediterranean hummus with sumac and coriander

Whether you have it as part of a quick lunch with carrots or as a starter with falafel, hummus is a simple recipe that can spice up any appetizing platter. 



For the hummus:

  • 1 tin chickpeas
  • 5 Tbsp tahini
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 3 sprigs coriander
  • 1 clove garlic
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp garam masala
  • ½ lemon juice only

To garnish:

  • sumac
  • 1 Tbsp chickpeas steal from the can of chickpeas
  • pepper
  • chilli flakes
  • chilli oil
  • fresh coriander


  1. Place all the ingredients in the mixing bowl and combine 10 Sec. / Speed 8.

  2. If you find that the hummus is still a bit dry, add more olive oil and tahini. Season to taste. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

This recipe can easily be jazzed up by adding some roasted peppers. To do that, place some whole red peppers in the oven and roast them for half an hour at the highest temperature. Take them out, peel and blend with the other ingredients.
