This is one of the easiest and quickest ways to create a beautiful salted caramel sauce at home. You can use it to drizzle over your pancakes or spoon it over your favourite sticky toffee pudding. There are endless opportunities for this easy to create Thermomix recipe and I can already tell you, it won't last long in your fridge.

You can store the sauce in the fridge for up to 4 weeks. If you find that it gets a little hard in the fridge, simply place the closed jar in a bowl filled with boiling water for a few minutes and let the caramel come back to room temperature.

  • 130 g unsalted butter in small chunks
  • 260 g brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • 130 g double cream or thickened cream
  • 1 pinch sea salt

  1. To make the caramel sauce, place the butter, brown sugar, double cream and salt in the mixing bowl. Heat 9 Min. / Varoma / Speed 2 / no measuring cup.

  2. Pour the cooked sauce into a sterilised jar and seal. Serve immediately with your dessert or pancakes or store in the fridge for up to 4 weeks.

This is perfect for my daughter who has food allergies. At least we know exactly what’s in it and she can enjoy this delicious sauce! Thank you! ?

Would you use this as a cupcake filling? Or how can it be thicker for filling? Thank you!!

You could if you chill it for a while. It becomes harder and you could use it then. x

Any suggestion to replace the doble cream/heavy cream?

hmmm, you could only try single cream. I don’t know whether it would work with anything else.

I made the caramel sauce (without the salt) this morning. For such a simple and quick recipe, it makes a delicious sauce – I keep going back to taste test, just to make sure it’s as good as I think 🙂

This is incredible! So quick and easy. I made a half batch and had to use a little bit of white sugar as I didn’t have enough brown sugar. My son is loving it drizzled over his yogurt. Thanks, Sophia!
