Steamed Pizza Scrolls
These pizza scrolls are so incredible I can not get enough of them. To make something so delicious only requires such minimal effort and they are perfect for the kids or as a snack in front of the TV on a cold day. Unlike the baked version, these steamed scrolls are so fluffy, they develop a beautiful texture and the cheese is perfectly melted.
I used my silicone dariole moulds to make these out of the world pizza scrolls and they are so easy to wash up and portion your scrolls perfectly. You can get these on my shop.
- 160 g water
- 1 heaped tsp dry active yeast
- 250 g plain flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 50 g tomato puree
- 1 Tbsp dried oregano
- 50 g salami
- 100 g grated cheese
- Olive oil for greasing
- 500 g boiling water
To make the dough, place the water and yeast into the mixing bowl. Warm 2 Min. / 37C / Speed 2. Add the plain flour and salt and knead 2 Min. / Kneading Function.
- Transfer the dough into a Thermi Servebowl. Alternatively, place the dough into a mixing bowl and cover with a damp tea towel. Leave to prove covered with a lid for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
Once proved, place the dough onto a silicone baking mat dusted with flour. Roll out to a rectangle about 30x40cm. Spread over the tomato puree, oregano, salami and grated cheese and roll out starting on the long edge closest to you. Roll tightly into a sausage and cut into 8 individual pieces.
Place the dariole moulds into the Varoma dish and cover with the lid. Alternatively, place the scrolls on the papers into the Varoma dish and tray and cover with the lid. Leave to prove for another 30 minutes.
- Clean the mixing bowl. Fill with the boiling water and place the Varoma on top of the mixing bowl.
Steam the pizza scrolls 30 Min. / Varoma / Speed 2. Remove and serve immediately.
